LEARNING @ ST JOHN'S

A Strong Start to the Final Stretch.

It is wonderful to see all our students and staff return for Term 4 with such enthusiasm and purpose. The high level of positive energy across the school reflects a shared commitment to maximise learning and growth right up until the end of the year

Learning Across the Stages

Our classrooms are already alive with deep engagement as students delve into diverse and relevant topics. It is inspiring to witness the focused attention of our students as they tackle new units:

Kindergarten: Respect for Creation Our youngest learners are building foundational knowledge about the world, exploring the concepts of the sea, the sky, and the land. This unit focuses on how they can demonstrate care and responsibility for their environment.

Stage 1: Environmental Stewardship Stage 1 students are currently immersed in a vital unit on ocean pollution. By utilising the compelling mentor text, The Mess That We Made, they are exploring the significant impact of pollution on marine environments and discussing tangible ways they can become proactive environmental stewards.

Stage 2: Developing Netball Skills In Physical Education, Stage 2 has begun mastering netball skills and drills. These sessions are designed not only to build physical competence but also to reinforce crucial skills such as teamwork, strategic thinking, and effective communication.

Stage 3: Global Connections Stage 3 students are expanding their geographical understanding by studying global connections. This rigorous unit challenges them to analyse how diverse places and cultures are linked through complex systems like trade, communication, and shared environmental challenges.

The beginning of Term 4 is a critical phase for consolidating the year's learning. It is heartening to observe our students settling into their tasks with such dedication. This collective focus, combined with the professional commitment of our teaching staff, ensures that we make the absolute most of every remaining learning opportunity this term.

We look forward to sharing more of their excellent work soon!
